James Sutherland & Co Ltd is pleased to announce that they are now part of the Carlisle based H&H Group; the sale was completed this week. James Sutherland & Co Ltd specialises in online auction sales on behalf of Liquidators, Administrators and Bailiffs across the North of England. This expertise will further extend the range of services and marketing methods employed by the progressive H&H Group.

The acquisition means that James Sutherland & Co Ltd is now part of one of the foremost auctioneering businesses in the North of England and the South of Scotland. Sharing its vision and growth, even in difficult market conditions, it will add to the H&H portfolio which includes auctioneering, chartered surveying, estate agency, insurance, financial services and printing.

Consultant Paul Roberts, who is himself a Fellow of the National Association of Valuers & Auctioneers commented, "Although small, we are a successful business and have recently developed our online auction facility. I feel that H&H with their pedigree and experience will provide the opportunity for the business to grow in the future. The company will continue to operate here in Newcastle with the same team of staff and I will remain involved with the business so for our customers it is very much 'business as usual'."

Brian Richardson, Chief Executive of H&H explains, "The business fits well with our existing auction businesses which include Livestock, Motor Auctions and Auction Rooms. James Sutherland & Co has developed its business to embrace modern technology; they have a very strong online presence and are very involved in internet auctions. This is one specific area we are looking to develop across the Group in the future. We also see great potential to extend the customer base across to the west of the country".

The H&H Group is an unquoted plc with an excess of 1,000 shareholders and a heritage which can be traced back more than 140 years. General auctions
All our general auction sales are now conducted online. Auctions are usually fortnightly and full details are uploaded on a Saturday morning. Viewing is at our premises in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear, England on the following Thursday from 9am to 4pm. The auction finishes from 12noon the following day. Successful bidders can collect their purchases between 9am and 4pm on the Monday after the sale finishes. Each sale typically consists of bankrupt stock, office furniture & equipment, computer equipment, small tools & machinery, and motor vehicles.
Private treaty sales
We also sell assets by tender, or private treaty. This way of offering equipment for sale is beneficial when selling a small number of specialised high value items.
Valuations
Valuation work is carried out for the majority of liquidators and receivers in north-east England and we take instructions from corporations, companies and individuals wishing to buy, sell or re-base their balance sheet assets. We are also increasingly involved with valuations for management buy-out teams, and finance providers wishing to take security over lending.
